Argentina Offers Aid to
Brazil
BUENOS AIRES - The Argentinean Government
offered immediate aid and all elements
deemed necessary to assist victims of floods
in northeastern Brazil.
A note released by the Foreign Ministry
website says that this collaboration will be
channelled by the Argentinean White Helmets,
as required by the Government of Brazil.
Specifically, emergency humanitarian supply
experts have been put at the disposal of
Brazilian authorities, as well as Search and
Rescue (SAR) equipment and post-traumatic
psycho-social control experts to work with
peers from response teams and health and
education systems.
The Argentinean offer also includes a field
hospital designed for rapid deployment to
support the local health system work.
The note also conveys solidarity to the
government and people of Brazil and laments
the death of dozens of people in the states
of Alagoas and Pernambuco, where floods have
already affected more than 100,000 people. |
