Brenes To Continue As Attorney General Of Costa Rica

Ana Lorena Brenes will continue as the Procuradora General de la República (Attorney General) for six years more, being named by the Consejo de Gobierno (Governing Council) after her previous term ended on May 8th.

Brenes got the green light from the Comisión Legislativa de nombramientos (Legislative Commission on appointments), recommending to the Legislative Assembly her ratification.

The position of the Procurado General de la República is the prerogative of the government, but requires legislative ratification.
