Customer Finds Keys Dangling From Bank Door

Imagine going to the ATM machine and finding the keys to the bank hanging from the lock of the door? Well, that is exactly what happened ot Ingrid Barquero, when Saturday night she went to the HSBC branch in Goicoechea.

Barquero, at 7:40pm, said she looked to see if there anyone inside the branch when she saw the keys dangling on the door, deciding to open the door to activate the alarm when she saw no one.

But, more than 20 minutes later and no response from anyone, police or bank officials, she decided to call 911.

Alejandra Marín, the Fuerza Pública official who responded to the 911 call, said after inspecting the branch and seeing that nothing was amiss, she waited for the arrival of the CSE security (private banking police) and the OIJ to investigate.

"I entered the bank as I was entering my house", Barguero told an Al Día reporter.

The woman explained that she opened the door and then stood waiting for someone to come. "I didn't leave so that no one could go in. I never felt at risk, but after a few minutes and no one showed up, I began to get scared", said Barquero in telling her story.

It is not clear exactly what happened, but it appears that a security guard hired by the bank left the keys hanging from the lock and his radio nearby.
