US Tries to Divide Honduran
Resistance
TEGUCIGALPA - The National People''s
Resistance Front (FNRP) denounced US
Ambassador Hugo Llorens'' open interference
in the internal affairs of Honduras and the
maneuvers to divide the anti-coup movement.
Union and FNRP leader Carlos H. Reyes
revealed the increase of persecution and
campaigns to weaken the Front since it
declared itself as a political instance
vying for power.
"We are seeing already the US Ambassador
leading ministers, military officials and
the president himself, and interfering in
the country's internal affairs," said Reyes.
As John Negroponte did in the decade of
1980, Hugo Llorens is ruling from La Paz
Avenue, doing politics, taking decisions,
giving orders and plotting, an editorial of
El Libertador daily said on Thursday.
The daily refers to meetings held by the US
diplomat with members of the Liberal Party
belonging to the resistance movement and
with other organizations with the objective
to divide the FNRP.
These days the Front is suffering the
proconsul's attacks. The strategy is
repeated: divide and conquer, says the
daily. |
