Subversive Drive Against
Cuba, Venezuela Slammed
CARACAS - The US encourages and funds an
international campaign to discredit Cuba and
Venezuela, attempting to stop the processes
of change in the region, a solidarity group
denounced there Saturday.
According to Dilubina Paez, member of the
Cuba-Venezuela Friendship Movement, the US
Central Intelligence Agency is behind the
move, with its network of NGOs and lackeys.
The CIA uses its tentacles like Cuban worms
in Miami and unpatriotic Venezuelans because
it intends to destabilize the two
revolutions, which are a ray of hope and
inspiration for Latin American progressive
forces, she told Prensa Latina.
For Paez, the anti-Cuban resolution of the
European Parliament, and isolated protests
of women in white in Havana and Venezuela
are examples of Washington's subversive
intentions and influence.
We know where they come from and who pays
them, she noted. Such campaigns were to be
expected, given the advance in the region of
governments and movements not subordinated
to the White House, Paez stressed.
On Friday, seven women dressed in white
protested in front of the Cuban embassy in
Caracas, with posters on human rights. The
provocation was immediately rejected by a
large number of young Venezuelans.
"We reject having here CIA agents paid to
discredit our revolutions," Paez told Prensa
Latina.
