Venezuela Condemns Presence
of US Military in Colombia
CARACAS - he permanent secretary of the
Forum of South America-Africa Cooperation (ASA),
Jesús Arnaldo Perez, condemned the presence
of seven US military bases in Colombian
territory considering it was an imminent
danger for the region.
As a Venezuelan and diplomat he accused the
existence of these bases that constitute a
threat to peace, to democracy and stability
of Latin American nations, he expressed to
Prensa Latina.
Perez emphasized that the agreement between
the US government and Bogota is jeopardizing
the rights of peoples due to the risk of the
proximity of these forces with capacity to
spy on and deploy forces throughout all
Latin American.
War, he added, is a counterproductive object
for sustainable development and life in the
planet.
The permanent secretary of ASA also rejected
the media campaign against Venezuela and
affirmed that these aggressions are also
dangerous although not appearing direct
clashes.

monsters attempting to establish connections
with drug traffic or terrorism is a
chronicle of an announced war, he concluded.
Venezuela was accused recently by a Spanish
judge of lings with members of the Basque
ETA and Revolutionary Armed Forces of
Colombia (FARC) among other accusations
promoted by the Inter American Commission of
