Pandolfo Leaving Deportes On Principle And Not Because Future Minister Is A Woman

Osvaldo Pandolfo Rímolo, the viceministro de Deportes, the man responsible for the new national stadium, is leaving, refusing president-elect Laura Chinchilla's offer to stay following her naming of Guiselle Goyenaga as her ministra de Deportes.

"If Pandolfo has no problems working for a woman, he can stay", said Chinchilla following the press conference announcing the final members of her cabinet.

"I am leaving on principles", Pandolfo responded after the Chinchilla remarks.

According to Pandolfo, he explained that the president-elect never spoke to him before naming Goyenaga to the post and the offer to stay on was made last minute.

Pandolfo flatly rejected that he is leaving not wanting to work under a woman.

"It has noting to with gender, I would be leaving even if the new minister would be man".
