Accords with Venezuela Going

QUITO - The agreements with Venezuela are
going extremely well, Ecuadorian President
Rafael Correa asserted on Friday, after
presenting together with his Venezuelan peer
Hugo Chavez a new joint lubricant brand
between PDVSA and Petroecuador oil
companies.
Correa referred to prospecting for gas 9n
the Gulf of Guayaquil and the Puna island,
where Vnezuela is assuming all risks.
Prospecting only in Puna cost around $25
million, he said
The Ecuadorian president said it was lie
that prospecting for gas had stopped, and
clarified that it is really difficult to
achieve good results in the first well, and
we have to continue.
The Refinery in the Pacific is the most
important investment in Ecuador's history,
also with PDVSA, and we have to thank
Venezuela for its solidarity, he said.
Correa recalled that during the energy
crisis that we underwent in the middle of
2009, Venezuela donated six million saving
light bulbs. We are grateful people, said
the Ecuadorian president.
We will continue working to bring Venezuela
and Ecuador closer, for this Latin American
unity, he asserted. |
