US Soldiers Invade Talamanca
To Provide Medical Services
A group of US soldiers invaded the community
of Alto Talamanca, armed with medications in
a very special mission.
The medics are from the South Command of the
US Army joined a group from the ministerio
de Salud (Health) and the Caja Costarricense
de Seguro Social (CCSS) - Social Security -
to bring free medical services to the
residents of the region.

The group made up of doctors, pharmacists,
dentists and otherss arrived in helicopters
to provide the 500 residents of the area
with medical attention.
Working together as a team, Costa Rican and
American health professionals provide first
aid, treated respiratory infections, dental
and skin problems, among other health needs.
The group also left the community with
medications.,
The cost of the operation is said to be
us$300.000.
In total some 30 US Air Force personnel and
30 Costa Ricans took part in the mission. |
