Arias Thanks China For The New Stadium

Before the downpour on Friday, Costa Rican president, Oscar Arias, visited the construction site of the new national stadium to thank the Republic of China for the donation of what will be the most modern stadium in Central America, at a cost of us$83 million dollars.

The stadium is about 75% complete and with a capacity of 35.000 spectators, will be handed over to the Costa Rican people on April 11.

During the prez's speech work continued.

The donation came after Arias was able to re-establish diplomatic ties with China, breaking a 63 year relationship with Taiwan.

The new stadium will house 32 sports associations.
