Blamed for Deaths in Venezuela
CARACAS - The five assassinations reported
in the past days in Venezuelan states
bordering Colombia have been attributed to
paramilitary groups, according to local
police and media.
Luis Kabarin, chief of the scientific police
in Barinas State, attributed a triple
homicide Wednesday to a fight for territory
among groups dedicated to charge for
extortion and kidnappings.
The victims, one Colombian woman and two
Venezuelan men, were linked to those illegal
operations.
Local press also reported the assassination
of a woman and a young man in Tachira, after
having received alleged warning.
Mass media and regional deputies have
denounced the entry of Colombian
paramilitary and criminal groups which,
after crossing the border, have begun
operating on Venezuelan soil. |
