Laura To Dress In White On Saturday

President-elect, Laura Chinchilla, the first woman to become president of Costa Rican on Saturday, May 8, will be wearing white on her coronation ceremony.

The dress, ivory coloured, is a gift from her parents and her husband, was bought in the United States.

"For me, the most important thing is that ordinary people be there, hopefully they come with their children. I want to celebrate the day with the people of Costa Rican", said Chinchilla.

Doña Laura also made a call to the protestors of the last weeks to respect the ceremony.

"Costa Rica does not deserve that (protests). The images will will transcend the international community and could discourage some people from attending the ceremony", said Chinchilla.

Doña Laura will be accompanied on Saturday by her husband, José María Rico and their son, José María Rico Jr.

Her parents will also be present in the front row, along with invited guests and dignitaries, when at 12:05pm she will receive the presidential sash from Oscar Arias and become the first woman president in Costa Rica's history.
