The iPad Is
Coming To Costa
Rica In June
The iPad with
record sales of
more than 1
million in the
first few weeks
of introduction,
will be sold in
Costa Rica as of
next month
(June).
The wonder of
Apple, next to
the iPhone, will
be officially
available at
authorized Apple
stores in Costa
Rica. But don't
get your hopes
up high for an
"official"
iPhone, that is
still a no-no in
Costa Rica*.
It is not yet
know what the
price in Costa
Rica will be. In
the US and
online for $499
for the 16GB and
$599 for the
32GB with WiFi.
The 3G version
was just
introduced this
past week and
sold for $829
for the 64Gb
version.
However, the 3G
version cannot
be used in Costa
Rica, as is used
a "mini" SIM
chip, a chip
that is not
provided by the
Instituto
Costarricense de
Electricidad
(ICE).

been using our
iPad for more
than a week and
have to say have
been pleasantly
surprised.
Although it is
not a full
computer, it
does do
everything
except make the
coffee or wash
the dishes. But,
we are sure
there is an App
coming for that
shortly.
And rumour has
it that ICE is
working on a
deal with Apple
for the iPhone.
Although that
has been the
rumour for some
time and since
then Apple has
introduced the
3G, the 3GS and
soon the 4G,
while ICE is
still, well...
The iPhone
(unlocked and
ready to use in
Costa Rica) is
available at
various
retailers - no
Apple authorized
- for $1.100 for
the 16Gb and
$1.300 for the
32Gb. Ouch! that
is a lot of
green for an
Apple.
