Guatemalans Supporting Cuba
Increase Actions
GUATEMALA - Those in Guatemala that
currently support Cuba's cause announced
further actions in defense of the
Revolution, faced with enemy attacks.
Silvia Solorzano, leader of the Coordinating
Committee of Solidarity with the island,
told Prensa Latina those groups are readying
an extensive program for the rest of the
year, still to be defined in detail.
Implementation of multiple initiatives to
reveal the reality of the Cuban situation to
the Guatemalans, faced with the media
campaign sponsored by the United States and
supported by Europe, is the only certainty,
Solorzano stated.
The organization leader recently returned
from Havana, where she attended the main
parade on the occasion of the International
Workers' Day, and a meeting with guests from
al over the world that belong to committees
of solidarity with the Cuba.
She agreed with Eduardo Gallo, president of
the Association of Cuban Marti-Scholar
Residents in Guatemala (AMRCG), about one of
the most important objectives of the
immediate and future work.
Both leaders explained the goals of their
respective organizations after the meeting,
as part of a world campaign for the release
of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino,
Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene
Gonzalez, five Cuban antiterrorists that
have been unfairly imprisoned in the United
States for over 10 years. |
