Brazil, Argentina Discuss
Trade
BRASILIA - Brazil and Argentina are
discussing on Thursday and Friday in Buenos
Aires bilateral exchange of goods and
services, payments in the local currency,
agricultural issues, and non-automatic
import licensing.
The Brazilian Development, Industry, and
Foreign Trade Ministry (MDIC) informed that
trade relations of Brazil and Argentina with
China, revision of agreements among some
private sectors of those countries,
commercial protection, governmental
purchases, and the exemption list of the
common foreign tariff are topics included in
the agenda.
The meeting will be held at the Secretary of
Industry, Trade, Small and Middle Enterprise
of Argentina's Industry and Tourism
Ministry, and will be coordinated by MDIC
executive secretary Ivan Ramalho, and
Argentinean Industry Secretary Eduardo
Bianchi.
The final goal of those bilateral trade
meetings is to increase common exchange,
despite some obstacles in specific sectors.
According to MDIC, the 49.4 percent increase
in bilateral trade in the first four months
of this year corroborates the positive
results of the meetings.
Last year's trade was marked by the negative
effects of the international financial
crisis, so there is common will to increase
those links even more, to reach pre-crisis
levels.
