Caja Seeking
Elderly, Widows,
Handicapped And
Indigenous To
Get Them Their
Pensions
The Caja
Costarrisence de
Seguro Social (CCSS)
- Costa Rica's
social security
- has begun and
aggressive
campaign seeking
out the elderly
and widows to
get them their
pension. The
work of the CCSS
officials will
be mostly
concentrated in
remote areas of
the country.
The social
security plan is
to get the word
out to all those
65 years of age
and older and
widows 55 years
age and over, as
well as the
handicapped and
indigenous, to
ensure that they
get their
pensions.
The areas of
focus by CCSS
officials will
be the Santa
Rosa de Pocosol,
Pital, Aguas
Zarcas,
Florencia and
Matina and the
indigenous
reserve of
Cabécas and Bajo
Chirripó,
setting up
information
centres and
knocking on
doors.
