120 Kg of Cocaine And Drug Traffickers Nabbed At Costa Rica - Nicaragua Border

load of 120 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a truck landed four men in police custody following an investigation by the Organismi de Investigcaión Judicial (OIJ) - Judicial Police - and a tip when and and in what the drugs were being moved in.

The police operation took place in Guanacaste as two of the men were driving the truck north to Nicaragua in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A raid on a home in Tibás in San José netted the arrest of two more men, but not any drugs.

The OIJ suspected the group is part of an organization that moves drugs from Colombia to Mexico through Costa Rica and Central America.

In the past, Costa Rica was considered only a bridge for drug traffickers. Now, Costa Rica has been converted into a warehouse for drugs from Colombia while waiting shipment to the north.
