Oscar Arias Came
To Office Alone,
Leaves With
Girlfriend
Oscar Arias came
to power in 2006
a single man,
but left four
years later with
girlfriend in
tow.
On Saturday,
Suzanne Fischel
held on firmly
to "her man",
Oscar Arias -
still the
president at the
time - as they
walked from the
Arias private
home in
Rohrmoser to the
Sabana park, a
kilometre away.
Suzanne had been
seen hanging
around the
president for
the last six
months, but it
wasn't until the
May 1 ceremonies
that there was
any hint of a
serious
relationship.
The two had been
rumoured of
seeing each
other for the
past year.
Suzanne is the
second
"girlfriend" the
former president
and Nobel Peace
Prize winner (we
had to through
that in, of
course) has had
while in office
Or at least
known publicly.
For a time, don
Oscar and
Giovanna
Mendolia had
been a couple
and rumours of
marriage hit the
gossip columns.
But, that
relationship
went south,
supposedly the
pressures of the
presidency
interfered with
the
relationship.
