Venezuela Updates Care to Pensioners Abroad

CARACAS - The Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS) will update its records of pensioners living in Spain to prevent those nationals from being defenseless wherever they choose to live.

A delegation of the institution will visit the Caracas consulates in Madrid, Vigo and Tenerife, with the purpose of enrolling new beneficiaries, and renew the old data.

The general director of Membership and Money Benefits of IVSS Abel Mercado stated in a press release that Venezuelans living in Spain benefit from their insurance thanks to agreements signed between both countries.

The visit of the delegation also will aim to review relations with Banco Santander, the entity that is responsible for payments in the Iberian state, and closer ties with the Social Security Institute of Spain.

Statistics shared between the two nations included about 2,802 Venezuelan pensioners in Spain, as well as 459 people eligible for aid if they put in order their documentation.
