Panamanian Government Meets
with Civil Society
PANAMA - The Panamanian government confirmed
on Wednesday the invitation to
representatives of civil society
organizations to dialogue with President
Ricardo Martinelli, to discuss about several
subjects.
According to the Ministry of Communication
of the state, the meeting will be held this
Wednesday afternoon, with opportunities to
be extended for several hours.
The appointment will be a space for groups
to present their concerns and views without
intermediaries or restrictions on matters of
national interest.
The contact does not have a specific agenda
in order to prevent the meeting to focus on
only three or four themes.
Martinelli will be accompanied by ministers
Jimmy Papadimitriu (Presidency), Lucy
Molinar (Education), Guillermo Ferrufino
(Social Development), Franklin Vergara
(Health) and Federico Suarez (Public Works).
For their part, civil society organizations
requested to the executive on Tuesday to
define the issues to talk about, to
formalize the dialogue. |
