Panama, Colombia Advance in
Trade Negotiations
PANAMA - Panama and Colombia reported
advances in the talks on Cross Border Trade
in Services, Investments and Environment as
part of the process for an exchange
liberalization agreement, official sources
reported on Thursday.
Discussions pertaining Public Trading were
activated today during ongoing talks in
Bogota, according to the Ministry of Trade
and Industry (MICI).
The talks have contributed to know in detail
the stands reflected in texts to take them
into consideration to find common views
satisfying both parties, MICI added.
Contacts will lead to define negotiation
margins for delegations in those aspects
with targets that are difficult to be
achieved.
In the Labor and Environmental chapters,
participants highlighted the technical and
financial cooperation approach between the
parties in specific areas of interest, where
they take into account the recognition of
economic asymmetries.
The different teams also activated the
negotiation tables on National Merchandise
Treatment and Access, Institutional Affairs,
Technical Obstacles to Trade and Customs
Management, among others. |
