"Run The Presses", Imprenta Nacional Strike Over

The strike at the Imprenta Nacional (National Press) ended on Thursday following an agreement reached between the workers and the Ministerio de Trabajo, Gobernación and the Imprenta Nacional.

The workers held out for eight days.

The government agreed to respect the 12 years of "cesantía" and not eight set out by the previous administration.

The strike affected the printing of the La Gaceta - the official government publication - stalling the enactment of decrees, laws and more important the rise in the cost of gasoline prices.
