Bolivian Lawmakers Ratify
Cooperation Agreement With Iran
LA PAZ- Bolivia's lower house of parliament
has approved a cooperation agreement the
country has signed with Iran, local media
reported Thursday.
The Chamber of Deputies gave the green light
to the agreement on Wednesday night, said
the report, adding that the agreement has
yet to be approved by the Senate before it
goes to President Evo Morales.
The agreement was signed in September 2007
when Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadineyad
visited Bolivia for the first time. It
contains pledges to strengthen bilateral
diplomatic ties and cooperation in a wide
range of sectors such as manufacturing,
agriculture, infrastructure, water, forest,
culture, science and technology and
resources. |
