Activist of Honduran
Resistance Killed
TEGUCIGALPA - Gilberto Alexander Nunez,
activist of the National People's Resistance
Front (FNRP) in Honduras was killed when he
was returning home after participating in a
teacher's demonstration.

27, was member of the FNRP's committee of
safety and discipline and had received
several death threats.
After taking part of a teacher's
demonstration in front of the National
Congress of Honduras, Nunez went to his
place in the south of the capital where he
was attacked by two individuals who were
wearing ski masks and carrying heavy
weapons.
His friend Jose Andres Oviedo, 26, also lost
his life in that place too.
Nunez had announced to the Committee of
Relatives of the Detained-Disappear in
Honduras he had received death threats. Also
that he had being harassed and chased.
Dozens of the National People's Resistance
Front (FNRP) in Honduras have been killed
since the coup of past June 28 against
Zelaya's government. |
