"Platina" Bridge To Be Repaired, MOPT Says

The Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) announced on Wednesday a plan to repair the "platina" bridge on the General Cañas following several repair attempts some nine months ago.

The bridge has a 10 centimetre (4 inch) gap between the spans on the westbound side of the bridge, causing congestion as traffic slows down or even stops to cross the bridge

The MOPT says that the work will take between six and eight weeks.

Ouch! That will mean even more congestion as traffic now backs up to the hospital Mexico at peak hours and with the two lanes open. Imagine the congestion when one lane is closed while work crews make the repairs.
