Honduras,
Canada
to
Sign
FTA
Tegucigalpa
-
Honduras
and
Canada
will
sign
a
free
trade
agreement
on
Friday
that
will
open
up
both
countries'
markets
to
traditional
and
non-traditional
exports
and
boost
investment.
The
treaty
will
be
signed
by
Canadian
Prime
Minister
Stephen
Harper
and
Honduran
President
Porfirio
Lobo,
according
to a
government
press
release.
The
treaty
also
touches
on
issues
that
are
sensitive
for
Canada,
such
as
pork
and
beef
quotas,
and
includes
tax
relief
for
products
that
already
enjoy
the
Generalized
Tariff
Preference
and
local
defense
of
some
products.
The
signing
of
the
final
document
will
be
in
San
Pedro
Sula.
Harper
will
arrive
in
Honduras
as
part
of a
Latin
America
tour
that
also
includes
Brazil,
Colombia
and
Costa
Rica.
During
a
brief
visit
to
Tegucigalpa,
Harper
will
meet
with
Lobo
to
tackle
issues
such
as
trade,
security,
cooperation
and
business
opportunities.
