Percent
Growth
in
Tourism

Salvador

Tourism
grew
by
over
two
percent
in
the
first
half
of
this
year
in
El
Salvador
compared
to a
similar
period
in
2010,
according
to
official
figures
quoted
in
news
reports.
Tourism
Minister
of
Tourism
Jose
Napoleon
Duarte
Jr.
explained
that
visitors
this
year
outnumbered
those
who
came
in
the
first
six
months
of
2010.
He
attributed
this
result
mainly
to
the
Easter
holidays,
when
68,168
tourists
arrived
in
the
country.
The
counry
registered
growth
of
over
two
percent
in
that
industry
and
was
heading
for
reaching
this
year´s
projections
of
four
percent,
he
said.
From
June
2010
to
May
2011,
3.9
percent
growth
was
registered,
with
1.50
million
visitors,
according
to
official
figures.
