El
Salvador
Remains
on
Rain
Alert
San
Salvador
-
The
Direction
of
Civil
Protection
in
El
Salvador
reiterated
on
Monday
the
alert
for
eastern
and
western
coastal
areas
due
to
the
rains
that
have
hit
the
nation
over
the
past
five
days.
Relief
agencies
were
put
on
full
availability
from
last
Friday
before
the
passage
of a
tropical
depression
over
the
weekend
associated
with
low
pressure
in
neighboring
countries.
The
National
Service
of
Territorial
Studies
(SNET)
forecast
that
Monday
and
Tuesday
it
will
continue
overcast
with
sporadic
downpours,
which
can
be
locally
intense.
The
rains
caused
overflowing
of
rivers
and
streams
in
the
eastern
areas
and
minor
flooding
in
several
parts
that
have
forced
the
evacuation
of
affected
families.
So
far,
no
victims
have
been
reported.
