Steve
and Lisa
Gone!
The
restaurant
Steve
and
Lisa,
south of
Tarcoles,
was not
only a
great
place to
stop and
eat and
take in
the
Pacific
ocean,
it was
also a
point on
the road
that
meant
you were
almost
at Jacó.
But, it
is no
more
with the
demolition
yesterday.
The
restaurant
was
demolished
following
an order
by the
Contraloría
General
de la
República
(CGR)
for
being
built on
aprt of
the
maritime
zone (Zona
Marítimo
Terrestre
(ZMT).
The
restaurant
was
built in
1967,
before
the
Costanera
and
according
to the
owner of
the
property,
Carlos
Manuel
Murillo,
it was
exempt.
In fact,
Murillo
had
filed a
recurso
amparo
(appeal)
against
the
expropriation
of the
property.
The
demolition
of the
restaurant
leaves
28
people
out of
work,
including
José
Manuel
Parra
who has
worked
at Steve
and Lisa
for the
last 20
years.
