Though
the
price
of
gasoline
has
hit
the
roof
with
consecutive
increase
all
year,
there
is
some
good
news,
the
price
of
rice
is
dropping.
Beginning
Sunday
the
cost
of a
kilogram
of
rice
will
drop
¢43
colones.
The
Ministerio
de
Economía
(MEIC)
signed
a
decree
dropping
the
price
of
the
graim
from
¢734
to
¢691
colones
a
kilogram.
The
price
of
rice,
like
gasoline,
is
set
by
the
government.
The
viceministro
de
Economía,
Marvin
Rodríguez,
said
they
had
hoped
for
a
drop
of
¢100
colones,
however,
the
Tribunal
Contencioso
Administrativo,
did
not
permit
the
larger
reduction.
Beginning
on
Sunday,
the
MEIC
will
accept
complaints
of
consumers
against
retailers
who
do
not
drop
their
price.
