Confirms
Three
Cases
of
AH1N1
Virus
in
Costa
Rica
The
Ministerio
de
Salud
reports
that
there
were
three
positive
cases
of
AH1N1
in
Costa
Rica,
several
months
after
a
postpandemia
was
declared.
Ana
Cecilia
Morice,
the
interim
ministra
de
Salud,
made
the
announcement
on
Friday,
who
explained
that
it
is
not
an
outbreak
but
rather
the
event
is
normal,
the
product
of
the
entry
of
the
rainy
season.
Morice
would
not
say
much
about
the
three
cases,
other
than
that
the
lab
results
of
the
Instituto
Costarricense
de
Investigación
y
Enseñanza
en
Nutrición
y
Salud
(Inciensa)
were
positive
for
the
AH1N1.
In
2009,
the
AH1N1
virus
caused
the
death
of
72
people
in
Costa
Rica
and
some
4.000
confirmed
cases.
The
Salud
official
was
clear
that
there
is
no
alert
warning,
but
said
health
officials
are
not
ruling
out
more
cases.
