Elections
Campaign
in
El
Salvador
The
Farabundo
Marti
National
Liberation
Front
(FMLN)
in
El
Salvador
said
it
will
make
a
civic
and
positive
campaign
with
view
to
the
upcoming
municipal
and
legislative
elections.
In a
statement
by
the
Political
Committee,
the
Front,
the
largest
political
force
in
the
nation,
expresses
security
in
the
triumph
in
the
elections,
because
it
has
the
best
proposals,
honest
candidates
(men
and
women),
and
workers.
The
party
issued
the
statement
after
the
call
by
the
Supreme
Electoral
Tribunal
to
participate
in
the
elections,
scheduled
for
Sunday,
March
11,
2012.
After
the
defeat
at
the
polls
in
2009,
the
Nationalist
Republican
Alliance
(ARENA),
with
the
support
of
the
upper
ranks
of
business,
promotes
changing
the
electoral
system
established
in
the
Magna
Carta
of
1983.
As
FMLN,
we
will
make
a
civic
and
positive
campaign,
confident
in
the
victory,
says
the
party's
Political
Committee.
We
call
the
people
of
El
Salvador
to
be a
protagonist
in
this
great
day
to
finally
bury
the
past
of
corruption,
insecurity
and
poverty
that
we
inherited
after
20
years
of
ARENA
government,
he
concluded.
