Rains
A
Boom
For
the
Laundry
Business
Although
we
have
all
had
to
complain
about
the
weather
of
the
last
couple
of
weeks,
there
is
one
group
that
is
surely
jumping
up
for
joy
-
the
laundries.
Washing
and
drying
clothes
during
the
last
couple
of
weeks
that
practically
didn't
see
any
sunshine
for
12
days
straight
was
more
than
a
chore,
for
many
households
do
not
count
with
a
clothes
dryer.
The
laundries
have
reported
a
70%
increase
in
business
in
the
last
two
weeks.
The
main
problem
with
the
endless
rainy
days
is
that
wet
clothes
acquire
a
bad
smell
if
they
don't
dry
properly.
One
way
to
dry
clothes
without
the
sun
is
find
a
windy
spot
or
use
a
fan
to
help
the
process
and
using
scented
wipes
to
eliminate
odors.
But
that
is a
feat
in
itself
when
raining.
With
almost
two
weeks
of
constant
rains
some
had
to
postpone
their
weekly
laundry,
while
many
others
had
to
given
in
as
they
ran
low
on
clothing
and
use
the
services
of a
laundry
which
costs
between
˘1.500
and
˘2.000
colones
per
kilogram
of
dirty
clothes.
A
mistake
made
by
some
is
placing
the
wet
clothes
behind
a
microwave
or
other
fan
source
appliance
without
being
aware
that
the
practice
could
result
in
the
damage
of
the
appliance,
which
will
then
cost
more
to
repair
or
replace.
