Are You On The List? COSEVI Publishes List of Speeders

If you are one of the drivers who still is unsure if you have been picked off by a traffic camera for speeding, the Consejo de Seguridad Vial (COSEVI) today published the list of all tickets issued from September 8 to 20, 2011, inclusive.

The 120 page document, published in today's digital edition of La Gaceta, includes the license plate number, the identity of the registered owner of the plate/vehicle and the ticket number.

The same list will also be published on Wednesday in the daily La Nación and on Friday in the printed version of La Gecata, which notice is then "legal" notification which allows offending drivers/plate/vehicle owners ten working days to appeal or pay up.

Following Friday's publication the last day to appeal or pay up is October 17, 2011. Thus on October 18, 2011, all tickets on "this" list will be subject to later penalties, fines and 3% monthly interest.

In addition, unpaid tickets are added to the Marchamo, which means the vehicle owner has to pay the fine - and costs - to renew the annual circulation permit which is due December 31 of each year.

The COSEVI will be publishing regularly the list of infractors which up to last week was more than 14.000 in the first two weeks of the operations of the cameras.
