Deaths
Toll
Of
Weekend
Rains
Heavy
rains
in
central
and
eastern
Costa
Rica
have
triggered
floods
that
have
forced
evacuations
and
may
be
responsible
five
deaths.

Although
the
storm
caused
by a
low
pressure
system
has
left
the
area,
the
rains
have
subsided
and
the
sun
is
shining
again,
some
800
people
are
still
being
housed
in
shelters
not
being
able
to
return
to
their
homes.

the
Comisión
Nacional
de
Prevención
de
Riesgos
y
Atención
de
Emergencias
(CNE)
visited
the
area
Turrialba
and
Matina
-
two
areas
more
affected
by
the
rains
- on
Tuesday.
Despite
the
improvement
in
the
weather,
the
CNE
says
it
will
continue
the
"yellow
alert".
The
CNE
says
that
a
total
of
928
people
are
still
being
house
in
23
shelters
or "centro
de
atención
temporal",
waiting
on
the
water
levels
in
the
rivers
to
drop
and
people
can
go
home.
