Costa
Ricans
living
abroad
will
vote
for
the
first
time
in
the
history
in
the
2014
during
presidential
elections,
announced
today
the
Supreme
Tribunal
of
Elections
(TSE).
The
Tribunal
indicated
in a
statement
that
these
past
Wednesday
they
said
a
cooperation
agreement
with
the
Ministry
of
Foreign
Relations
that
will
allow
joint
organization
for
voting
abroad
for
presidential
elections
and
referendum.
"This
agreement
will
allow
joint
activities
in
terms
of
training,
extension,
installation
of
voting
stations
and
all
the
logistics
necessary
to
facilitate
the
voting
of
Costa
Ricans
living
abroad,
in
addition
to
any
other
activity
for
electoral
purposes,"
affirmed
the
TSE
.
Nowadays
there
are
50
consuls
of
Costa
Rica
all
over
the
world
qualified
to
receive
Costa
Rican
citizens
and
include
them
in
the
electoral
registration.
According
to
the
official
data,
there
are
4,086
Costa
Ricans
registered
abroad,
in
countries
like
USA,
Australia,
India,
and
several
European,
Latin
American
and
Asian
countries.
Costa
Rica
has
4.3
million
people
and
for
the
presidential
elections
of
2010
about
2.8
million
voted.
