˘50.000 Bill In Circulation August 27

August 27 is the date set by the Banco Central (Central Bank) for the start of circulation of the new ˘5.000, ˘10.000 and ˘50.000 bills.



This completes the family of new bills in Costa Rica, bills with more security measures that make it almost impossible to counterfeit.

Once the new ˘5.000 and ˘10.000 are in circulation, the Central Bank will start the process of retiring all the old bills.

With the introduction, the family of bills in Costa Rica will be: ˘1.000, ˘2.000, ˘5.000, ˘10.000, ˘20.000 and ˘50.000.
