Mark
Peace
Agreements
The
Summit
of
the
Central
American
Integration
System
(SICA)
on
Aug.
8 in
Nicaragua
will
mark
the
25th
anniversary
of
the
signing
of
the
Esquipulas
Agreements
that
restored
peace
to
the
region,
the
Executive
confirmed.
Prior
to
the
meeting
of
presidents,
today
the
Foreign
ministers
and
technical
teams
of
SICA
will
gather
in
this
capital,
said
Coordinator
of
the
Council
of
Communication
and
Citizenry,
Rosario
Murillo.
She
said
that
representatives
of
the
Organization
of
American
States
(OAS)
will
attend
the
meeting,
as
requested
by
the
presidents
of
the
region.
This
week
we
will
celebrate
the
peace
time
we
are
going
through
in
Central
America,
hoping
for
it
to
consolidate
and
become
the
daily
atmosphere
and
spirit,
said
the
representative
of
the
Executive
in
remarks
to
Multinoticias
program
of
television
channel
4.
According
to
Murillo,
nowadays
many
people
worldwide
are
reflecting
and
praying
so
that
such
terrible,
deplorable
crimes
like
the
US
bombings
of
Hiroshima
and
Nagasaki
on
August
6,
67
years
ago
cannot
happend
again.
The
legacy
of
Hiroshima
and
Nagasaki
has
become
a
permanent
invitation
for
peace
to
remain
as a
fundamental
objective
in
the
life
of
mankind,
she
said.
