Argentinians Crowd Local Tourist Destinations

Some seven million Argentinians crowded the main local tourist destinations in the first half of the year, according to the Chamber of Tourism.

In January-May, more than 6.70 million people toured the nation, a year-on-year increase of 1.7 percent, said the source.

More than 17.6 million visits were registered in the period, for an increase of 2.3 percent compared with the same period of 2011.

Tourism has remain very active so far this year, said President of the Argentinian Chamber of Tourism Oscar Ghezzi, who attributed this growth to a demand encouraged by tailor-made alternatives offered by the sector.
