On Average 70 Traffic Accidents Daily in San José

In July, on average, there were 70 accidents daily in the Gran Área Metropolitana (GAM) - Greater Metropolitan Area of San José - the majority occurring during peak hours.

According to a report by NavSat, most accidents occurred on Fridays, with an average of an accident every five minutes during rush hours.

The report, in addition to providing accident data, revelas that the collapse of the autopista General Cañas caused great impact on traffic flow in the GAM, contributing to more than 31 hours a week of congestion on the roads.

The worst day of the week for traffic congestion is Fridays, the report says.
