Anniversary
Celebrations
in
Nicaragua
Foreign
Minister
Enrique
Castillo
participated
Wednesday
in
Managua,
Nicaragua,
in
the
activities
commemorating
the
25th
Anniversary
of
the
Peace
Plan,
which
was
signed
25
years
ago.
Castillo
said
that
the
agreement
"opened
the
paths
of
hope,
but
there
is
still
much
more
to
go."
"One
cannot
forget
the
role
played
by
President
Oscar
Arias
in
the
process"
and
noted
that
he
(Arias)
"fully
committed
himself
to
the
search
for
peace,
like
the
rest
of
the
rulers
of
the
time.
It
was
undoubtedly
a
very
important
support
in
the
battle
for
peace",
said
the
president
of
Nicaragua,
Daniel
Ortega.
Ortega
added
that
Arias
was
"the
pillar"
of
the
efforts
to
stop
the
war
and
confrontations
in
Central
America,
and
therefore
was
awarded
the
Nobel
Peace
Prize.
"We
Centroamericanso
feel
very
well
represented"
with
the
award
said
Ortega
who
stood
by
the
side
of
Arias
in
signing
the
agreement
25
years
ago.
Next
month
in
San
José
there
will
be a
tribute
to
the
players
for
their
role
in
the
agreement.
The
participation
of
Costa
Rica
in
Nicaragua
meant
that
the
two
countries
put
aside
their
"official"
differences
for
at
least
the
one
day.
