Ruta 27 Partially Closed

Autopistas del Sol reports the partial closure of the San José - Caldera (Ruta 27) at kilometre 46 due to a landslide occurring minutes after 6pm Saturday.

Autopistas spokesperson, Monserrat Courrou, explained that the road remains open but is under "paso regulado", meaning lane closures and traffic congestion.

The partial closure is between Orotina and Atenas and clean up is expected to be completed by late tonight (Sunday).

Autopistas and Transit authorities recommend alternate routes. Light passenger vehicles can use the Monte del Aguacate (old road to Jacó), while heavy trucks will have to wait out the clean up or use the Interamerican Norte to Puntarenas if headed north.
