Rica
will
Have
Tech
Olympics
The
hot
topic
in
recent
days
were
the
London
Olympics,
but
as
some
left
wanting
more,
Costa
Rica
will
its
own
competitions;
but
these
will
be
directed
at
technical
careers.

The
National
Training
Institute
(INA)
will
be
arranging
the
activities,
who
from
the
first
time
will
make
Olympics
of
this
type,
in
which
180
will
participate.
They
will
make
several
contests
to
choose
the
best
10
or
15
competitors,
depending
on
the
number
of
people
who
are
registered
at
the
headquarters
of
the
INA.
The
investment
for
these
Olympics
will
be
of ˘
60
million
due
to
the
mobilization
of
equipment,
and
transportation,
accommodation
and
meals
for
participants.
The
final
event
will
be
on
September
26th
and
27th
in
El
Pedregal,
where
they
plan
to
divide
the
area
where
the
competitions
will
take
place.
There
will
be
an
area
for
reception
and
the
sponsors
will
be
able
to
have
stands
to
sell
their
products.
In
the
qualifying
rounds
about
a
1,000
students
will
participate
from
9
regional
offices
of
the
INA,
who
will
be
supported
by
130
educators
that
will
be
responsible
for
defining
the
tests
that
have
to
be
measured.
In
total,
25
tests
will
be
made
in
16
subsectors,
including:
printing
industry,
food,
vehicle
mechanics,
metallurgy,
textiles,
traditional
processes,
materials
technology,
electricity,
and
tourism.
