Extends
Benefits
to
Families
for
Food
Security
More
families
in
Nicaragua
will
receive
this
week
domestic
animals
for
breeding,
seeds
and
other
agricultural
inputs
by
the
Food
Production
Bonus,
to
keep
on
reducing
malnutrition
and
poverty,
the
government
said.
Official
figures
guarantee
that
the
Bonus
so
far,
benefited
more
than
100,
000
women,
who
are
also
trained
for
the
job.
This
time
the
delivers
will
take
place
in
the
North
Atlantic
Autonomous
Region,
the
municipalities
of
Managua,
San
Francisco
Libre
and
El
Crucero;
as
well
as
in
several
localities
from
Jinotega,
Matagalpa,
Esteli
and
Chontales
departments.
The
distribution
will
include
cows,
pigs,
poultry,
food
for
the
animals,
timber
postures
and
fruit
trees,
seeds,
mesh
rolls,
zinc
sheets
and
other
building
materials,
explained
the
coordinator
of
the
Communication
and
Citizenship
Council,
Rosario
Murillo.
The
official
recalled,
the
Food
Production
Bonus
facilitates
the
role
of
productive
subjects
to
rural
families,
mainly
for
women.
Registered
in
the
Zero
Hunger
program,
this
plan
encourages
local
economy,
mainly
in
rural
areas,
where
human
development
indicators
are
still
precarious.
Short-term
aspiration
is
that
farm
households
are
able
to
stock
up
on
meat,
milk,
eggs,
fruits,
vegetables
and
grains,
as
part
of
the
national
food
security
strategy.
Data
from
the
Organization
of
the
United
Nations
on
Food
and
Agriculture
said
that
the
19
percent
of
the
Nicaraguan
population,
more
than
a
million
people,
suffer
malnutrition.
A
recent
study
by
the
International
Foundation
for
Global
Economic
Challenge
highlights
gradual
improvement,
to
decrease
poverty
by
nine
percentage
points
in
recent
years,
local
analysts
associated
with
social
policies
of
the
Sandinista
government,
led
by
President
Daniel
Ortega.
According
to
Nicaraguan
Foundation
for
Economic
and
Social
Development,
for
their
amount,
the
programs
having
greater
impact
in
reducing
inequalities,
are
public
elementary
or
subsidized
school
meals,
scholarships,
Zero
Hunger
and
public
or
subsidized
junior
high
schools.
In
assessing
the
efficiency,
the
private
entity
distinguished
the
range
of
literacy,
the
deliver
of
useful
and
free
food,
schools
and
Zero
Hunger
