Farms,
estates,
vehicles
and
even
hotels
are
on
the
list
of
assets
banks
in
Costa
Rica
want
to
get
rid
of,
properties
that
Costa
Ricans
could
not
pay
for
and
are
going
on
auction.
The
Banco
Nacional
(BN)
and
the
Banco
de
Costa
Rica
(BCR)
has
published
its
first
list
of
properties
available
to
the
general
public.
The
BN
tops
the
list
with
34
lots,
mostly
in
Puntarenas
and
Guanacaste,
although
it
has
some
in
San
José
and
Alajuela
provinces
as
well.
Prices
range
from
¢21
million
to
¢400
million
colones.
At
the
BCR,
the
auction
includes
19
properties
and
12
vehicles
and
a
hotel
in
Guanacaste.
These
are
assets
that
the
banks
have
recovered
from
non-paying
borrowers
after
completion
of
the
judicial
process.
