Nicaragua Gets More Funds for Energy and Environment (OVER)

Nicaragua will obtain another $8 million USD for state investments in electricity, water, and protection of the environment, with the international funding, announced the Nicaraguan government through Rosario Murillo.

The Executive, headed by President Daniel Ortega, will sign a series of credits and donations with the Inter American Bank of Development this week, which will allow increasing investments, said the coordinator of the Communication and Citizenship Council, in her daily TV program address to the people.

According to Murillo, the contracts will provide resources for the infrastructure work and the protection of environmental areas such as the basin of Apanas and Asturias lakes, in the northern Jinotega department.

The priorities of the Sandinist government include the increase of the generating capacity and the change of the energy, in order to meet the needs of the national economic development and the electricity export to other Central American nations.
