General Cañas Baileys Ready on Tuesday

Just in case you cared, the Bailey bridges over the sinkhole on the autopista General Cañas, will be ready tomorrow, Tuesday.

Work crews have been working around the clock the last several days, installing the metal structures and building the ramps to and off the structures, that will move two lanes of traffic westbound.

On Sunday, the weather cooperated, with the rains staying since the day before, allowing crews to work unimpeded.

In the meantime, one lane of three eastbound lands is being used to for westbound traffic. The use of the Bailey will eliminate the temporary westbound lane and move traffic in the area east of the Plaza Cariari, in front of Los Arcos.

Work crews will be working underneath the structures to repair the damaged water pipe that caused the sinkhole last week and restore the road surface.
