Rice Producers in Liberia to Receive Grain Processing Plants

Rice producers announced that they will receive grain processing plants owned by the National Production Council (CNP9).

This past Sunday, Oscar Campos, President of the Board of Grain Producers, announced that they will receive grain processing plants for their Terraba, Liberia and finally in Rita Sarapiqui farming operations.

The gesture was to celebrate "El dia del Arrocero," or Day of the Rice Producers, in a formal act with the authorities of CNP and the Ministry of Agriculture.

"We should have went down this road years ago; this allows producers to have the vertical integration," said Campos.

Historically, coffee producers have struggled with drying and storing rice for the industry.
