President
of
Honduras
Supports
Impeachment
President
of
Honduras
Porfirio
Lobo
supported
the
introduction
of
the
concept
of
impeachment
in
the
Constitution,
an
issue
that
has
sparked
controversy
countrywide.
In
remarks
to
journalists
in
San
Pedro
Sula,
Lobo
termed
interesting
that
possibility
and
added
that
in
the
nation
no
official
has
immunity,
as
quoted
by
El
Heraldo
newspaper.
In
his
opinion,
the
impeachment
must
guarantee
due
process,
and
he
criticized
what
happened
in
Paraguay,
where
President
Fernando
Lugo
was
prevented
from
defending
himself
and
was
dismissed
by
Congress
in a
parliamentary
maneuver
considered
by
many
as a
coup
d'Etat.
