The
Construction
of
Costa
Rica's
New
Legislative
Headquarters
The
search
for
a
new
home
for
Costa
Rica's
legislators
is
on
and
the
bid
for
the
first
phase
of
the
project
is
open
to
the
public
as
of
today.
The
first
phase
of
the
project
will
cost
US$5.5
million
dollars,
which
will
be
part
of
the
total
project
divided
into
four
phases
for
a
total
of
US$77
million
dollars.
The
participants
must
present
models
and
drawings
of
the
formal
vision
of
the
project,
in
addition
the
symbolic
aspect
that
the
building
will
take.
All
entrants
must
meet
all
the
requirements
of
the
Colegio
Federado
de
Ingenieros
y de
Arquitectos
(CFIA)
-
ssociation
of
Engineers
and
Architects.
October
30
is
the
deadline
for
submissions
and
the
start
of
the
selection
of
the
winning
bidder
that
will
start
construction
as
soon
as
possible
thereafter.
Since
September
last
year,
a
trust
fund
for
the
construction
plans
was
established
with
the
Banco
de
Costa
Rica
(BCR).
